Career Counseling

While Tracy's bitchiness and schedule sadism are not exactly unprecedented, she's in rare form tonight.

  1. Da hell?! Is she still in high school, or what? Seriously, bitch, you see that meat slicer? Sit your ass down on that and let me start it up for you.

    1. So many roast beef references to make…

      1. Go ahead, make ’em. I was actually kind of hoping someone would when I put that up there.

        1. “How would you like your Rump Roast, sir? Freshly sliced? Thick?”

Best I could come up with, and congrats to me, first actual post here

        2. There’s always the old Rocky Horror Standard:

“I asked for Tube Steak… not Rump Roast. And Never with ketchup”

Any way you slice it…it’s still meatloaf

  2. She is downright an A-Class bitch. Man I hate this girl so much, hit her in the damn head with the fire extinguisher Nate!

    1. Exactly what I’ve been thinking as soon as I read the first panel.

      1. That fire extinguisher is like a Chekov’s gun, and it needs to hit someone’s face before all of this is over. But I guess that’d just be too psychotic for this No End of Compliance universe.

  3. Normally I’d make a joke about Tracy harboring a crush for Nate, but it’s just too fun to watch this. She’s on a roll baby!

    1. If End of Compliance is anything to go by, she does have a thing for him.

      1. Oh Clearly she does, you can tell shes doing this outta spite that Nate wanted to go out with Miranda. Although I’m sure to Tracy she thinks that her bitchy attitude is somehow winning Nate over as shes forcing him to spend more time with her no doubt. =o

“YOU’VE MADE A POWERFUL ENEMY IN KING SWAYZE, TRACY!” is all I can truly comment.

    2. Oh yeah, she’s secretly crushing on him. But she is in fine bitch form indeed! Fun like hell to read.

  4. You’re facial expressions are getting better, but Tracy still looks like “The Scream” painting in panel 1.

    1. Kind of what I was going for. It’s supposed to be an exaggerated expression.

(Though I did raise the mouth a little after a second look.)

    2. “Your.” Had to.

  5. Who lit the fuse on her tampon?
This makes me wonder if she DOES have some kind of crush on Nate and treats him like shit in order to hide it, kind of like Helga in Hey Arnold did.

    1. Your comment made me bust out laughing, but now I have this image stuck in my head of someone lighting tracy and watching her shoot off into the sky like a firecracker. XD

    2. Awesome line. Wish I had thought of it!

    3. Now there so needs to be a scene where tracy pulls out a littlwe stuffed doll of Nate and starts acting like Helga.

  6. Gold 🙂

  7. Yeah, I’m calling it: Tracey is totally jealous. I’m thinking she has a thing for Nate and what she’s doing is basically pulling his hair and pushing him down on the playground

  8. Eh… She might be a bitch, but I’d still hit that.

    1. *hi-five* Totally.

  9. clearly she likes him. But is to much of a tard to come clean.

  10. Seriously, I don’t know about crush or no crush, but she hit the nail on the head with the comments on the last panel.
Granted, I would probably have to say that having that job makes him lazy being terrified of losing it makes him wussy.
However, your version brings the point home better.

    1. Eh, she’s got that job too. Can’t insult a guy for working at the same job as you. Woopee doo she’s a manager. Really going places in the world.

Pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.

      1. Except she’s at least a manager.

        1. one other point: This is his second rotation in this job. he escaped once and came back. *THAT* makes him a wuss, and I should know… I have so been there.

        2. It’s just like an abusive relationship, he gets beat down, leaves and comes crawling back, time and again.

  11. I have to agree that this seems a huge leap for Miss Winters. Usually her snark is just that, mixed with a sense of moral high ground from her perspective. But she has suddenly gone straight into full-on BITCH territory. THis would be a great point for delving into her character and finding WHY she’s such a raging moral thundercunt. (and I REALLY wish I had coined that term, but credit’s due to blade trinity of all places)

Or maybe we’ll get some laughs as we see that her depths of her bitchery run even deeper than previously thought. C’mon, we’ve all had THAT manager in retail- you think they’re kind of a jerk, but can be fair, and then they suddenly pull some truly douce-tastic move.

  12. Oh, the force of The Bitch is strong in this one… maybe she either really likes him and can’t confess to it, or she’s just a total bitch who watches too much Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Irony is I actually had a manager like this who was a total bitch… eventually I just acted like a ninja and she was my master; I’d deliver my news, then disappear, and that worked out really well(considering she once kicked the air to see what I would do, and that was THE wrong thing to do, considering I’m a brown belt in karate).

    1. Don’t bring Beck and Limbaugh into this, it’s a webcomic, it has nothing to do with politics >.> Besides, I watch Beck, and he is better then that radical, left-wing psycho Ed Schultz, anyway, yes Tracy is a bitch

      1. Being better than shit doesn’t make you golden.

  13. OK – so we’re pretty well ALL in agreement, she WANTS Nate, but won’t own up to it?

I’m waiting to see her and him, working Saturday, SHE makes a ‘pass’ at him (why not – it’s the new millennium, she’s “liberated”, HE’S pathetic and sexually up tight).

Bet she makes the pass, HE pops his ‘cork’ – THEY get CAUGHT by Rose, Melinda _&_ the Store OWNER, Nate screams “sexual harassment”, BOTH get canned, Rose and Melinda walk away from Nate!

{hows THAT for a twisted pair of knickers??)

  14. I thought Tracy was described as “purported harlot” – and not “sadistic bitch”?

    1. Perhaps it can be modifed to “Purported harlot, confirmed bitch”?

  15. I could see them just start making out right now

  16. I get the feeling Nate could date an Angel, I mean an actual Angel from Heaven with wings and everything, and Tracy would STILL make some snide comment about her.

  17. Her look in the third panel. Nice!

  18. Nate needs more people talking to him like this to sort his shit out. Go Tracy!

  19. *Ahem*
“Neutral Evil, “Malefactor”: A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. On the other hand, she doesn’t have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has.
Some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. Most often, such villains are devoted to evil deities or secret societies.
Neutral evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents pure evil without honor and without variation.”

  20. I like it. He should take her words to heart and decide that other employment would be in his best interests. 😛

  21. You know what confuses me? Comic 66 states that Nate is a HS dropout, yet he still can get a bookkeeping job. This doesn’t seem right. I’ve never heard of a bookkeeping job that doesn’t require at least a HS diploma. Heck my best friend has a BA in accounting and still can’t get a bookkeeping job.

Still, I can’t find any evidence other than EOC that this is Nate’s position. Is it? If so, how the heck did he get it?

    1. Book keeping jobs require a minimum of a BA, as one needs to get certified in the particular state they are in to be an accountant, and that certification requires a BA minimum, plus testing.

    2. True. But apply this: Nate’s immediate superiors are, in order: A champion delegater. An asshat who is also lazy. And a bitch.

If he can count above 3, they delegate the job to him.

    3. Bookkeeper in a grocery store is pretty much a bullshit title. It does involve doing the close of business procedures for the previous day, including the safe count, deposit, Western Union and money order transactions and the like and investigating where the money went if it isn’t there, but it doesn’t require actual accounting experience or education.. In some stores it’s called “Assistant Customer Service Manager”, but aside from a couple of hours of paperwork in the morning you’re usually on a register.

The chain of command for the front end goes Bagger/Cashier –> Front End Assistant (Supervisor) –> Bookkeeper –> CSM –> Assistant Manager –> Store Manager. None of those jobs explicitly require a high school diploma, but I will say that Nate does have a GED, since it may never become relevant in the comic.

  22. ‘*Ahem*
    “Neutral Evil, “Malefactor”’

Eh, a Neutral Evil person would knife their grandmother for a Klondike Bar. I don’t the sense that Tracy is Neutral Evil. I’m not sure a D&D Alignment fits for her. As much as the system is broke, I think the Palladium Alignment: Anarchist fits her better.

    1. How about this then: TSUNDERE! Although all we’ve seen so far is tsun, not much dere 🙂

  23. ya know, he should just record this. at 10 k a pop for sexual harrasment, racial discrimination, and employee harrasment, he wont be poor for long. Every thing she said in thats trip was utterly illegal.

  24. …she wants his babies…

  25. First rule of the interwebs. Don’t feed the troll.
